Word Stress
Mc Mahon (2002:118) the opinion that native speakers of english are intuitively aware that certain syllables in each word and one syllables in particular, will be more phone tically prominent than others. indeed, within the word, there can be more than one level of stress. Thus the learners should master word stress. It was in line (Roach, 2002:89) who states the following.
